MAZE RACER
A SENIOR COLLEGE SHORT FILM THAT TAUGHT ME THE FUNDAMENTALS OF WORKING WITH A TEAM.
My senior group film, Maze Racer, was one of the biggest projects I had worked on. For this CG animated short film, I was in charge of modeling and animating the titular prop, the fake arcade game Maze Racer, in addition to animating the main robot character in a few scenes. I had to design an arcade cabinet that really stuck out, that screamed “I am the main character!”
I made a pretty distinctive looking game, complete with a metal base that allowed the actual main character, a small robot, to come up and play the game. I also made the 8-bit style racing game that mimics the arcade the film takes place in. I faced a lot of unique challenges with this game, and I think it turned out to be such a cute little film.
